Designer Solitaire Engagement Ring – Portfolio

This 'Ring of the Week' was created in collaboration with a decisive client with a clear vision of a classic solitaire engagement ring design. We began with the centre diamond, which was a 0.32ct round cut brilliant stone. The ring needed to be practical fit for a very dainty finger size, so the height was set to approximately 5mm which allows for comfortable everyday wear. An under gallery detailing was used to taper in underneath the stone, adding an additional scroll-work detail to the ring. Ultimately it was decided that accent diamonds would be used, but would be kept fairly minimal. We achieved this by keeping these side diamonds fairly small and tapering them towards the centre cathedral setting. This gives a fine, delicate appearance. The precious metal chosen for the diamonds to be set on was palladium, allowing for a lighter, durable finish to be achieved.
