Meet Our Founder- Manu Bhardwaj
Manu, our founder, holds a Master’s in Mechanical Engineering and is passionate about physics, mathematics, and innovative problem-solving. While searching for his partner’s engagement ring, he identified a gap in the market for bespoke rings, leading to the creation of Durham Rose.
Manu delights in overseeing projects from concept to creation, producing pieces with lasting sentimental value. He specialises in intricate designs using lab-grown diamonds, precision-cut stones, and precious metals.
“The highlight of my profession is seeing my designs come to life in a deeply personal context. Recently, at dinner with close friends, I realized that three out of the four couples were wearing engagement rings I helped create. Moments like these are why I love what I do.
Meet Melissa Vass- Our Designer and Sales Manager
Melissa discovered her passion for jewellery at a young age, exploring family collections. She excelled in creative subjects and pursued Art after A levels, eventually falling in love with jewellery design.
She honed her craft studying Contemporary Jewellery Design at Buckinghamshire University. Melissa’s career began in Hatton Garden, collaborating with skilled craftsmen to create cherished pieces. She enjoys guiding customers through their romantic journeys and witnessing their emotional reactions.
Melissa expanded her creative horizons designing jewellery in China, blending fine and fashion jewellery. She loves working with sapphires for their natural colours, striking appearance, and versatility in design.

Enjoy your consultation from the comfort of your home or work, using just a laptop or tablet and a stable internet connection. You’ll receive a Zoom link ahead of your appointment, ready to join at your scheduled time. During your session, your designer will share ideas visually using 3D modelling software to help explore and develop your concept together. This allows us to discuss proportions, styles, and design direction, helping to shape your vision with confidence before moving into the next stages of design.
Meet your designer in-house
We offer exclusive, appointment-only consultations for clients who wish to meet us in person. At our creative studio, your dedicated designer will use advanced 3D modelling software to explore and develop your ideas with precision and care. To ensure you get the most from your visit, we recommend booking in advance so we can prepare your consultation and have a designer ready to guide you through each stage of your design journey.
